Anaïs Wenger seizes reality, composes situations and stages experiences. She creates shared moments, contexts that disturb, thwart and manipulate collective cultural constructions. She creates shared moments, contexts that disturb, thwart and manipulate collective cultural constructions. By taking new narratives from objects, from already-existing forms and situations, she suggests different lyrical and critical ways of looking at them – alternative narratives of a familiar phenomenon that has become surprising. Here, the artist presents the perfume bottle in its performative, discursive and poetic potential. Playing with puns, she composes a poem of conceptual odours, linking sensual dreams, romantic (de)construction and literary journeys. Perfume as an intangible yet shareable entity, perfume as a feeling.
