In his installations, Bastien Gachet asks the question of what is identifiable as an object or an artistic gesture. In the same exhibition, one such query might be: is a ready-made more real than the artistic gesture that has invited it, or is the work made by the artist realer still, even though their workmanship results in an identical object? Where is the limit? Ambiguity is the key, and stories without beginning or end form the delicate weft that holds it all together.
